Plain-language summary of what happens to the data you paste into ScenarioTrace. The short version: the logs you paste are used to produce your diagnosis in that request and are not kept on our servers.

Summary for readability — not legal advice. Last reviewed 2026-07-21.

What you paste

When you use the Free Analyzer, the successful and failed execution logs you paste are processed only to produce your result in that request. They are not kept on our servers after the response is returned — there is no log archive, and past results are not kept in your account.

Please still avoid pasting secrets, API keys, access tokens, passwords, customer data, personal data (PII), or raw payloads that carry them — paste only the module Input/Output you need for the comparison.

The AI diagnosis

ScenarioTrace runs deterministic checks first. For harder cases it sends the pasted logs to our model provider (Anthropic, the Claude API) during that request to generate the explanation and fix steps. This transfer happens only to produce your answer; ScenarioTrace does not keep the logs afterward. Anthropic processes the request under its own API terms.

Accounts & usage limits

You can use the Free Analyzer without an account. For anonymous use, a small monthly usage count is kept in your own browser (local storage) to apply the free limit — it is not sent to us.

If you create an account, your email address, plan, and a monthly analysis count are held in our database to operate the account and the usage limit. That record does not include your pasted logs or diagnoses. You can ask us to delete your account data (see below).

Error monitoring

To keep the service reliable, ScenarioTrace records coarse, anonymized counts of outcomes and errors (for example: how many analyses returned a result, a no-result, or an error, and which rule categories fired). These signals are counts and labels only — they never carry your pasted content, field names, values, or any personal data.

Service providers

ScenarioTrace relies on a few providers to run:

  • Anthropic (Claude API) — generates the AI part of a diagnosis from the request (see “The AI diagnosis”).
  • Supabase — database and authentication for accounts (email, plan, usage count).
  • Sentry — receives the coarse, anonymized error/usage counts described above.
  • Web analytics (self-hosted) — a first-party, cookieless analytics counter we run on our own server records anonymous, aggregate traffic stats (page views, the referring site or campaign, and which buttons get clicked). It sets no cookies, builds no cross-site profile, and never receives your pasted logs, field names, values, or any personal data. Your browser’s Do-Not-Track signal is respected.

Anonymized statistics we keep

To improve accuracy, ScenarioTrace keeps anonymized, non-identifying structural statistics derived from analyses — the shape of what changed between a working and a failing run. Every actual value, field content, secret, and free-text is removed before anything is derived, so this never includes your raw logs, values, or personal data.

These statistics are not linked to you or your account, are kept on our own server, are only used once several analyses share the same structure, and are deleted after 90 days. You can ask us to delete them (see below).
